Christine Ann Kruchen

December 2, 1954 — March 14, 2020

Beloved wife, mother, and sister, Christine Ann Kruchen, age 65, died in Golden, Colorado on Saturday, March 14. Born on December 2, 1954, in Englewood, New Jersey, she lived in Munster, Indiana during her teens, and attended Indiana University - Bloomington where she met her soulmate, Mark. Before settling in Colorado, they lived in Michigan for six years.

Christy loved her work as an Ophthalmic Technician and enjoyed being around friends and family. Her friendly and warm disposition made a difference in the lives of her patients and anyone who had the good fortune to meet her. This compassionate care extended to animals and following her retirement in 2008, she spent time volunteering at the Foothills Animal Shelter.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Kruchen, and daughters Kimberly and Erin. Christy is also survived by her sister Susan Kirk, niece Lauren Kirk, and brother-in-law, Dan Kruchen. She will also be missed by their family dog, Stevie. Christy was preceded in death by her mother, Jane and father, Ray.

In light of current global health concerns, a private service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado. A memorial service to celebrate Christy's life will be determined at an appropriate future date. Relatives and friends should return to the Horan & McConaty website for information on additional gatherings.

Given Christy's love for animals, we have created an option to donate to the Denver Dumb Friends League (via their website as a tribute gift) in her honor.
