Christopher Brian Downs, 59, of Elizabeth, Colorado and formerly of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was born on April 21, 1956, the son of the late Donald and Helen Downs. Chris was a 1974 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School where he wrestled under the late Coach Bill Quinn. Chris was a graduate of Bloomsburg University where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Chris began his career as Western Regional Manager for JLG Industries Inc., McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Drawn to the beauty of the Rockies, he moved to Colorado and continued his career as General Manager, Santa Fe Equipment; Co-Founder of Equipment Savers, Inc.; Co-Founder of Western Fleet Services, Inc.; and Co-Founder of Western Environmental, LLC. Chris was a former Board member with Easter Seals Colorado and was very proud to be a sponsor of its Annual Classic Clay Shoot. He was a former volunteer with the Rattlesnake Fire Department, an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsmen and devoted Broncos fan. Chris is survived by his loving children, daughter Haley and son Christopher both at home; two sisters Sandra Ogurkis (David), Harrisburg, PA, Candice Crouthamel (Anthony) New Cumberland, PA and a brother Donald (Tamara), Elizabeth, CO and a niece, Lauren Woods (Eric), Harrisburg, PA, three nephews, Terrence and Christopher Crouthamel, Harrisburg, PA and Bradley Shriver, Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of Chris's life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00p.m. at the Smokey Hill United Methodist Church, 19491 E. Smokey Hill Road, Centennial, CO 80015.
