Christopher Duncan Smith of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, age 73, passed on February 9, 2021. Chris graduated from the Dunn School, Los Olivos, California, and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College after serving in the 173rd Airborne, U.S. Army. While at Claremont he met his wife, Paula. He started his career with Computer Sciences Corporation and later worked for Galler Associates, Electronic Data Systems, and Lockheed Martin. Chris eventually retired from Qwest (USWest). He also ran his own photography business for several years and volunteered as a reserved deputy for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
In his free time Chris continued his photographic pursuits, travelled extensively, read ferociously, and spent time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, their daughter Alexandra (Jesse), son Sean, and his sister Kevin Smith of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kendrick and Bernice Smith. The Memorial Service will be held at Horan & McConaty, Centennial, Colorado on Friday, February 19, 2021. Those wishing to honor his lifetime of kindness and generosity can make a donation in his name to the Denver Rescue Mission.
