Chuck was born September 18, 1949 in Pueblo, Colorado to Dorothy and Charles Hamm III. He grew up in Arvada and attended Arvada West High School. In January of 1967 he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He did his training at Camp Pendleton in California, then was stationed in Viet Nam where he spent his 18th birthday. After he was discharged from the service in 1970, he moved to California with his first wife Pam. Upon moving back to Colorado, he worked several different types of jobs, but finally settled on working in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator.
Chuck enjoyed fishing but, has always had a love of cars. He would drag race at Bandimere Speedway until they were sanction by the NHRA. In 1989 he moved to California for work and it is there that he met his future wife Coralei who he married in 1990. Chuck and Coralei moved back to Colorado in 1992 and settled in Wheat Ridge. Chuck’s love of cars continued with the building and driving of street rods. He enjoyed driving his cars around town and getting thumbs up form other drivers. Chuck retired from construction in 2012, and this gave him more time to spend with his cars.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, sister Val, and stepmother Thelma. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Coralei, daughter Tracy, stepsisters Sharon Rubin, and Rosie Johnson and his little dog Marty.
