Claire Welsh

Claire (Lovenburg) Welsh, 82, of Centennial, Colorado and Marana, Arizona, passed away on July 30, 2020.

Claire was born on February 28, 1938 in Madrid, Nebraska to Lawrence and Lydia Lovenburg.  She graduated from Ogallala High School in Nebraska in 1955 and married her husband Don in 1957. During their marriage, they raised three daughters and lived in the beautiful homes she created in Nebraska, Colorado, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona.

Claire loved playing games with her friends and family, especially tennis, golf, pickle ball, Bridge, Hand and Foot, and Majong. She also loved travelling, the ocean, a good party, and she made every occasion feel like a special event not to be forgotten.

Claire was preceded in her death by her husband, Donald August Welsh, her parents (Lawrence McKinley Lovenburg and Lydia Esther (Langmacher) Lovenburg), and her sister, Jeanne Lee. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands (Stephanie Dawn Welsh, Shari Christine Welsh (Nick Martin), and Susan “Susie” Elizabeth (Keith Steven) McKenzie); her five grandchildren (Michael Kinter Talley, Drew Donald Talley, Ryan August McKenzie, Chase Steven McKenzie, and Zachary “Jake” Allen McKenzie); her sister, Barbara (Lovenburg) Sodomka; and many nieces and nephews.

A public visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the funeral service open to family members will follow at 12 noon.  Both the visitation and the funeral will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block west of South Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado.

Burial will be open to friends and family at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Pavilion “A”, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
