Clara E. ""Dolly"" Ansay

January 29, 1932 — September 3, 2015

Clara Emma ""Dolly"" (Pohs) Ansay, 83, of Aurora, entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, September 3, 2015 surrounded by her loving husband and seven children. She was born in Denver on January 29, 1932 to Clara (Sedlmayer) Pohs and Henry Pohs. She was raised in Denver, CO and graduated from Holy Family High School in 1950 after attending for 12 years. Dolly married the love of her life, Ronald Ansay, on August 13, 1955 in Denver, CO at Holy Family Catholic Church. They shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. They started their family in Wisconsin, then moved back to Colorado where they lived in Arvada, Aspen, Greenwood Village, Castle Rock and Aurora. Dolly was a Catholic woman of great faith, with a deep spiritual devotion to Saint Joseph. She loved everything about life in Colorado; hiking and cross-country skiing the Rocky Mountains (of which she could name every peak), the beautiful sunsets and the changing of the Aspen where she admired Colorado's vibrant fall colors every year. She loved knitting, and each of her 31 grandchildren have a hand knit afghan. Most of all she cherished every minute that she spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dolly is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Deacon Ronald Ansay; her seven children, Christopher Ansay, Karen (Matt) Golesh, Jeanne (Brian) Stafford, Julie (Tim) Volz, Joseph (Molli) Ansay, Renee McCann, and Matt (Kari) Ansay, all of Denver and surrounding areas; 31 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren (and counting); her brother Frank Pohs and numerous extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Geraldine Ansay; one brother, Henry Pohs; and great-granddaughter Grace Devine. Visitation Wednesday September 9, 2015, 3-5 PM at Horan and McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, followed by a Prayer Service at 5PM. Funeral Mass Thursday, September 10, 2015, 10:30 AM, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 19099 E. Floyd Ave Aurora, CO 80013. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to St. Benedicts Monastery, Snowmass; Sacred Heart Retreat House, Sedalia; or St. Michael the Archangel.
