Clara Ann O'Neil

“Our Family Treasure” Clara, age 94, was born on February 1, 1924 in Hillman, MN to William Block and Lillian Hesch Block. She passed away peacefully on April 8, 2018 in Denver, CO. Clara was a long-time resident of Rapid City, SD, and Houston, TX but resided in Denver, CO for the past five years of her life. She attended the Univ. of MN, receiving a BA in Home Economics, which led to a life-long career as an educator. Clara taught at North Jr. H.S. in Rapid City, SD for 25+ years and participated in numerous educational organizations over the course of her career. She was a member of many Catholic organizations in MN, SD, TX and CO, but most notably, the Knights of Columbus Ladies and the Office of Aging Ministry. When remembering Clara O’Neil, everyone says, “If you knew her, you loved her. She touched the lives of many.” Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. O’Neil & daughter-in-law, Anita L. O’Neil. Clara is survived by her sons, Gregory J. O’Neil, Patrick M. O’Neil (Pamela), Thomas G. O’Neil (Susan Pilaszewski), & her daughter, Kathleen M. Oberle (Kerry); grandchildren, Kelle Oberle (Mark Bowersox), Kasey Oberle (Theodore Giliotti), Deva O’Neil, Sean O’Neil (Ashley O’Neil), Lauren O’Neil (Andrew Giordano) & Jay O’Neil; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Miles, August, Avery & Emmeline; siblings, Agnes, Lillian, Patricia, Archie (Gladys), & Belva. A graveside memorial will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston, TX on May 5, 2018 at 10:30am. A funeral mass in her honor will be held at St. Dominic’s Warren Chapel, in Houston TX, on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 3:00pm.
