Clarence John Krieger, 83, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away November 1, 2006. Clarence, affectionately known to friends and family as Clancy, was born July 25th, 1923, in Denver, Colorado. Beloved husband of 61 years to wife Harriett and father to daughter Carol (Raymond) MacFee Jr., and son Michael (Jane) Krieger. Clancy also leaves eight grandchildren, Michelle (Evan) Gooden, Kelly MacFee, Grant, Bradley, Ross and Jack Krieger, Ben and Sarah Tosone as well as many nieces and nephews. His sister Dorothy Johnstone preceded him in death. Clarence grew up in Lakewood and graduated from the University of Colorado in electrical engineering in 1944. He served for two years at the Alameda Naval Air Station. He married his high school sweetheart, Harriett, on August 26, 1945. Clarence built and operated Krieger Construction Company for 40 years and was highly regarded for his professionalism and workmanship. He established the Krieger Subdivision in Lakewood. He was active in his church and community, a Past Master of the Masonic Order of Masons, member of El Jebel Shrine and Denver Consistory. Those who knew Clancy will remember him for his fine character and gusto for life. He was hard working, humble, kind hearted, generous and fun loving. He traveled extensively in his retirement and enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping and fishing, snowmobiling, golfing and tennis. He loved a challenge and though accomplished in many areas, he always felt he could learn something from someone else. He was very inventive and creative. He never met a stranger and his generous nature put other's needs ahead of his own. Clancy was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from 3:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Service Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 10:30 AM.
