Clarence Rawlings

Clarence H. Rawlings, age 93, passed away at the home of his daughter, Paula, in Castle Rock, CO on April 24th, 2022. Clarence lived a long and fulfilling life as a brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He served in the United States Air Force and subsequently worked for 30+ years as Head Custodian for Denver Public Schools before retiring. Clarence married Rusty Hoover in his early 20's and had 3 children, Kirt and the twins Kelly and Shelly. He married Yvonne (Bonnie) in June of 1964 and together they raised Paula and Rodney. They also raised their nieces when Bonnie’s sister passed at an early age.  He remained very close with Terri until the end of his time here.

Clarence loved to bowl, fish, hunt, golf and to sing karaoke. He was the self-proclaimed star crooner at the Eagles for many years! He was very proud of his charitable work with the VFW, Eagles and Elks. He enjoyed delivering groceries to the local food banks for as long as he was able!

Clarence is survived by his sister Kathryn Fowler, his children Shelly Blythe, Paula Courtney, Rodney Erickson and his nieces Terri Adams, Dawn Schallock & Michelle Gorman. As well as his 9 grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 11 of his siblings, 2 of his children and his beloved wife, Bonnie.

Funeral services will take place at Horan & McConaty in Thornton on Monday, May 16th at 11:30am. A reception will follow before the committal service at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
