Clarence G. Sieberg

Clarence Gerhard Sieberg, 92, of Denver, Colorado, passed away April 9, 2011. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 10th, 9 a.m., Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO. Military Honors will be provided. Clancy was born in Blue Earth City, Minnesota, on January 18, 1919, to Peter and Catherine (Udelhofen) Sieberg. He graduated from Loyola High School in Mankato, Minnesota. After graduating from high school he hitchhiked to Long Beach, California where he worked in the shipyards. During WWII Clancy served in the United States Air Force for a short period of time studying to be a pilot. Before completing his training he was drafted into the Army and served in the infantry for 3 years. While in Germany, on November 9, 1944 he was injured and earned a Purple Heart. After serving in the Army he attended Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. While in Colorado he met Helen Currier and was married on October 25, 1947. Over the next forty years he worked as a Manufactures Representative in the Clothing Industry where he traveled extensively throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Clancy loved animals, with dogs and horses a constant in his life. He enjoyed debating any issue of the day. And, he was passionate not to lose. He was a very generous person and would give you the shirt off his back. Clancy was always physically fit. He spent many mornings doing pushups and running in place which was needed as he liked Marie Calendar pies and a shot or two whiskey in the evening. Clancy was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, who passed away July 20, 2007. He is survived by two children, a Son; Greg and a Daughter; Nancy Strabala, Daughter in Law; Sophors; Son in Law; Chris Strabala; Grandson's; Michael Strabala and Jean Rene Sieberg; Brother of the late Marion Theissen.
