87, of Lakewood. Passed away on July 7, 2011. Born April 23, 1924 in Atchison, KS. Served with distinction in the US Navy Seabees during WWII in the South Pacific. Married Rosemary Armstrong on June 7, 1948. Received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University. Worked for 40 years as an Industrial Engineer for both private and governmental institutions, retiring from US Air Force civil service where he worked on the development of the original GPS system. Loving husband to Rosemary for 63 wonderful years. Dad to Diane, Mark, Karen, Bob and Therese. Granddad to Beth, Paul, Lisa, Cambria, Michelle, Erin, Eric and Hannah. Great-granddad to Scotty, Mason and Adelynn. Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9405 West Florida Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado. Committal will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 SOuth Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
