Beloved mother and grandmother, Claudia Lee Staab passed away peacefully at her home in Denver on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the age of 81. She was born on May 14, 1936, to Stanley and Freida Wheeler and was raised in Garden Grove and later, San Diego, California, where she met her husband-to-be, Bill, a Navy Sailor. They moved to Colorado and had one child, a son. A few years after their marriage ended, Claudia fulfilled a dream of moving to Hawaii where she worked for Boise Cascade in the early development of what became the Waikaloa Village. She was a kind-hearted woman, who was strong in her Christian faith and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Claudia was an avid reader and studied the bible each day. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends, and was a very social lady. She loved to decorate and maintain her home and did so until the day she unexpectedly passed. She is survived by her son, S. Terry (Noelle) Staab, and her grandson Brandon C. Staab. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment will be at Golden Cemetery.
