Cliff Cole, 62, passed away on Sunday, March 13th after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Cliff was raised in an Air Force family, and lived in several states and England before completing junior high and high school in Arlington, Virginia. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering at Cornell University. Cliff worked for the EPA in Salt Lake City before settling in Colorado, where he worked as an environmental engineer in air quality permitting for many years at TRC Environmental Corporation. Cliff was a fine athlete and excelled at kayaking, bicycling, swimming, and skiing. Cliff will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, kindness, love of life, and devotion to his family. Our lives are richer for knowing Cliff. Mourning his death are his loving wife, Mattye; father, Frank; brother, Charles ""Chip"" (Betsy Dunklin) Cole; son, Sean; mother-in-law, Lee Pollard; aunt, Jody Mines; brothers-in-law, Chris (Cindy) and Ben (Janet) Pollard; niece, Kate Cole; nephews, Thomas, Matthew, and Nicholas Pollard, and many cousins and friends. His mother, Nancy, preceded him in death. Cliff's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial.
