Clint James LeBeau, age 58, of Denver Colorado passed away peacefully on Monday May 31st, 2022, with his wife of 31 years Debra Rowe at his side at the Medical Center of Aurora Colorado.
Born on June 24, 1963 in Mission South Dakota, Clint James LeBeau was born to Dwaine Medard LeBeau and Rita Ann Swiftbird, both members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. Clint’s early years were in Albuquerque NM and he graduated from Roswell New Mexico High School in 1984. Later that year, Clint volunteered to serve his country in the US Navy continuing a family tradition of Naval service. After basic training, Clint began his service at the Naval Training Station located in Orlando Florida and rose to the rank of Recruit Company Commander. He then reported to the Naval Technical Training Center Meridian, Mississippi and specialized in database management and administration with the designation of Personnelman assigned to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW 124 located in Norfork Virginia. This squadron was assigned to the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) where he served one year of sea duty.
After Clint’s service ended in 1988, he spent a short time in Virginia and moved to the Denver area and began service to the Native American community at the Council of Energy Resource Tribes (CERT) as an administrative assistant in August 1988. He worked for CERT from 1989 to 2013 beginning as an administrative assistant and taking on more responsibilities ending as a program manager and facilitator coordinating all CERT conferences, general membership meetings and training sessions supporting CERT’s mission serving Native American Tribes.
Clint enjoyed a variety of activities throughout his life including, music (guitar, keyboards, saxophone), golf (no matter his score), bowling, camping and a super fan of the Washington Commanders football team. Clint was well known in the Denver dart community as Clint and Debbie participated in the Denver area dart leagues for more than 20 years. Clint had the best sense of humor and enjoyed life.
Clint leaves behind brother Jay (Sharon) LeBeau and sister Tracey LeBeau (Dean Polchies). Clint is preceded in death by both his parents, grandparents and siblings: his father Dwaine
LeBeau; his mother Rita Ann Swiftbird; his paternal grandparents Albert “Ralph” (Beatrice)
LeBeau; maternal grandmother Elsie Swiftbird Garreau, his brother Monte
LeBeau in 2019, and sister Vanessa in 2022.
Clint’s final wishes were to be cremated and forgo formal funeral services. His ashes will be scattered at a later date by family. At this time, the family request is to remember and honor his life with a prayer to help him with his journey and celebrate his life with a laugh and happy thoughts.
