Clinton Garnet Peterkin was born June 9, 1960 at the Tachikawa Air Base in Tokyo, Japan to Karl and Myrna Peterkin. He was 1 of 7 siblings (Karl, Vincent, Verda, Wanda, Devren, Verona). In his childhood, he spent time in the Philippines experiencing the diversity and culture of the region and was known to be a humble and true friend to everyone. His laughter and sense of humor brought joy to those around him. Once back in the states, Clinton excelled in sports - with basketball being his favorite. Regularly being featured in the local newspaper, being scouted by recruiters, and being the driving force for the success of the Atwater High Falcons were nothing out of the ordinary for him. The family moved from the Philippines to Colorado where he attended Hinkley High School. They then moved to California where he graduated from Atwater High School in 1978. Shortly after, the family moved back to Colorado. Shortly after, he joined the army as a medic where he demonstrated excellent medical performance. He was credited with saving the life of a heart attack victim who originally had been pronounced dead. Upon leaving the army, he went to Community SDA church where he met Quintinella Mathis. He leaned next to his dad and told him, "I'm going to marry her" and true to his word he did. They started their family, eventually giving birth to Brannon and Briana. Known for his analytical and financial acumen, Clinton worked for Qwest Communications for over 25 years helping push the Colorado region to a model for the company to use as the standard. Clinton loved to cook and eat and enjoyed gadgets that demonstrated how we were getting closer to living in a world that resembled the technology of The Jetsons. He thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend time with grandchildren and did everything in his power to provide his trademark love and joy.
