Clyde R. Hampton, born May 10, 1926 in Worland, WY, passed away February 14, 2010 from Parkinsons Disease in Aurora, CO. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy L. Hampton; daughter, Dorothy Norma Hampton; one sister; in-laws; and numerous loving, affectionate nieces and nephews. Clyde was a graduate of Columbia College where he played football, and a graduate of the University of Colorado Law School. He was active in the Colorado Bar Association and also served as an officer in the American Bar Association. As a pioneer environmental lawyer, he was known nationally for special contributions to environmental law and was employed for 33 years as a General Attorney for Conoco. He was also active in the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Institute and American Petroleum Institute. Clyde also served as a founding officer for the Association for Retarded Citizens and was a Deacon at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church. Clyde was an avid golfer and skier. His military service included positions as Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve and Commanding Officer of Naval Intelligence Unit at NORAD in Colorado Springs. Interment will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, NY. Memorial funds may be sent to Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, 10150 E. Belleview Ave., Englewood, CO 80111.
