Clyde Louis Manning, 79, died July 11, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Born August 3, 1942 in Covington, KY to Clyde and Verna Manning. He has two sisters, Patricia and Linda. He graduated from Holmes High School in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964. After his Air Force tech training to become a radar tech, he served a year of duty in Newfoundland. Clyde’s final tour was in Germany where he met the love of his life, Rosamaria (Rosemarie) Hahl. Clyde and Rosemarie were soon married and welcomed their first child, Patrick. After being honorably discharged they moved to Lexington, KY where they welcomed their second child, Stephanie. Clyde studied at the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a lifelong Wildcats fan! After graduating from UK, Clyde accepted a job with IBM and moved with his family to Longmont, CO. where they welcomed their third child, Heidi.
After a lengthy employment at IBM, he took a job with Litton and moved to Colorado Springs. Three years later he moved his family back north to Arvada where he worked at Lockheed Martin and Storage Tech, respectively. Clyde eventually landed his dream job at Ball Aerospace in Boulder where he was a principal reliability engineer and was highly regarded for his wealth of knowledge. He retired from Ball Aerospace in October 2013, however, his love of aerospace called him back to work and he did contract work with Jet Propulsion Lab/Bastion Technologies. He was very proud of his work at Ball and JPL. He loved his work so much that he retired 3 different times.
Clyde never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He had a love for Jazz, was an avid reader and fly fisherman, and had a fascination and understanding of space. He was a member of IEEE, Trout Unlimited and enjoyed volunteering at various fishing events. He was highly knowledgeable and never hesitated to share that knowledge with others. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, humble, and generous husband, father, brother and friend as well as the proudest Papa. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Clyde is survived by his beautiful wife of 54 years, Rosemarie, sisters Patricia Manning and Linda Myatt, his three children; Patrick Manning, Stephanie Pietrasiewicz (Brian), Heidi (Jason Covington); his beloved Grandchildren, Hope Manning, Jordan Manning, Cameron, Sydney and Addison Pietrasiewicz.
