Colleen Foster

Colleen Mary Foster passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 77. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Hazel McCune. Colleen is survived by her husband of more than 55 years, R Jon Foster, her daughter Karin (Eric) Dix, and her Son, Chris (Evangelic) Foster. Colleen has three grandsons, Kelan, Ryan, and Eli, and two Granddaughters, Lia, and Alex. She is also survived by her sister, Sharron Schwarz, and brothers, Patrick (Bonnie) McCune and Marty (Jeanne) McCune.

Colleen was born in Denver, Colorado on June 22, 1945. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in English and taught fourth grade. Once her children were born, Colleen was a stay-at-home mom who was an active volunteer at her children’s schools and with the children’s programs at St Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Once her children were grown, Colleen worked as a coordinator for independent living communities. She coordinated and trained the eucharistic ministers at the church, headed the Sacred Linen Team and helped with funeral receptions. When not volunteering at church Colleen was dedicated to physical fitness and enjoyed reading, sailing, and traveling.

A memorial will be held at St. Francis Cabrini on June 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.  A private burial service will be held later. Rather than flowers we would prefer you make a contribution in Colleen’s name to the Colorado Alzheimer's Association
