Colleen F. Marion

Colleen F. Marion, 79, of Denver, CO, passed from this life to the next on August 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Mitchell, South Dakota, 1 of 7 children to Bill and Ann Walsh. She graduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota in 1959 with a degree in English. She married Michael B. Marion on June 16, 1962, in Mitchell, SD. Colleen worked at The Bookies bookstore for over 20 years. She never saw it as a job, but rather a great place to be with fantastic coworkers, great customers, and of course wonderful books. She was an avid reader and spent a lot of time hiking and skiing in the mountains with her husband and children. She especially loved to watch all her grandchildren in all of their sporting, musical, dance and theatrical events. True to her Irish spirit, she loved a good celebration with family and friends. She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and a faithful friend to many. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike, and her sisters Patricia Koupal and Joann Messerli. She is survived by her children Mike (Theresa) Marion, Tim (Doreen) Marion, Molly (Deron) Hultzapple, and Katy (John) Ennis; her brothers Bill, John, and Tom Walsh, her sister Mary Curry, and her grandchildren Rachel (Scott and son Kegan), Dan, Nicholas, James, Jack, Sam, Lauren, William, Thomas, Johnny, Olivia, Meghan, Andrew, and Michael. A Rosary service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 6pm at St. Vincent de Paul Church, (2375 E. Arizona Avenue). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, immediately followed by a reception.
