Colman L. Dell, D.D.S. died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on February 25, 2017. He was born to the late Dominick and Hazel (Ferrone) Dell on September 11, 1930 in Denver, CO. Colman was a gentle, warm, kind and generous man loved by all he came in contact with, especially children and pets. Colman grew up in North Denver and graduated from Regis High School in 1948 and he then attended Regis College. He graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1955. After two years of active service in the Army Medical Corp, Colman practiced as a Dentist in Denver and then Wheat Ridge from 1957 until he retired in 2002. During his dental career, Colman treated multiple generations of some families and became close friends with many patients. He remained in the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring with the rank of Colonel. After retiring, Colman and his wife Martha enjoyed travelling (especially to visit their grandchildren), stayed active by volunteering, especially at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and enjoyed spending time with their many friends. Colman was a diehard Denver Broncos fan and was an original season ticket holder in 1960 and continued to own season tickets and attend Broncos games through the 2016 season. Colman is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Golden Dell and by his children, Lawrence C. Dell and wife Debbie of Severn, MD; Lisa Dell Martin and husband Bill, of Holly Springs, NC; David A. Dell and wife Mary Schurwonn-Dell of Arvada; and Michael E. Dell and wife Laura Egan of Denver; and his grandchildren: Matthew, Megan and Jeffrey Dell; Cameron and Alexa Martin; Dominick, Joseph, and Michael Dell; and Avery and Mason Dell as well as a step granddaughter, and two step grandsons. He is also survived by his brother Eugene and sister-in law Carol; his sister Jacqueline (the late Herbert) Lang; and his brother-in law Peter McNeill, along with caring and wonderful nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and countless loving friends. Colman was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marilyn Dell McNeill. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:30a.m., Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3900 Pierce Street in Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A private burial will follow at a later date.
