Connie was born in Denver, Colorado November 27, 1945 to Pauline and George Mendoza. She spent a part of her life in California, but remained primarily in Colorado and considered that home. She had two sisters and two brothers: Georgia, Lydia, Abel and Juan. Her father died when she was young. She married George Hernandez June 5, 1965 and they had 3 children, George Jr., Rick and Sabrina. She had 7 grandchildren: Morgan, Alex, Ashdan, Tayler, Tyler, Taylah and Madyson. Connie worked for Samsonite for approximately 20 years and left her job to care for her mother. In 1998 she had her first battle with cancer, but overcame it and lived well. Connie loved Blackhawk and her and George went there often to relax and have fun. Connie loved and was loved deeply by her family, she was the ""heart"" of them. She radiated love and warmth. Connie enjoyed taking care of others and often did. When her son died in 2006 she took in, loved and cared for his daughter Taylah and stepson Tayler. She battled cancer on several more occasions along with a heart problem, but it became to much for her. She left this earth and entered into the loving arms of the Lord June 3rd, 2009. She was and will always be known for her caring, giving, loving and generous spirit. We loved you in life, love you in death, and will continue to be the people who give of ourselves freely, and with the kind of compassion that you can look down on us with pride and love. You will always be in our hearts, we miss you. Connie is survived by her beloved husband, George Hernandez Sr.; children, George Hernandez Jr. and Sabrina (Dean) Rzeszut; grandchildren who called her ""Nana"", Morgan, Alex, Ashdan, Tayler, Tyler, Taylah & Madyson; and two brothers, Abel & Juan.
