Connie Spurgeon

October 24, 1943 — March 19, 2021

Connie was born in Riverton, Wyoming on October 24, 1943, the oldest child of Bea and Howard Keister. The family moved to Denver, Colorado a couple years later, and Connie lived in the Denver metro area the rest of her life.

After graduating from Merritt Hutton Junior/Senior High School in Thornton, Colorado, she married Paul Spurgeon on October 8, 1961. Together, they built a close-knit family of three children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild and were married for 53 years before Paul passed away in 2014.

Connie worked for several years at Johns Manville and later taught preschool at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, of which she was a longtime member and dedicated volunteer.

She loved spending time with family, gardening, reading, scrapbooking and traveling. She often dedicated her time to serving others through volunteer work at her church, organizations that support families struggling with housing and food instability and more.

Connie passed away at age 77 on March 19, 2021. She is survived by her children, Karen (Randy), Paul, and Jenny (Steve); grandchildren, Megan (Robert), Ashley, Lindsey, Stephanie, Joshua, and Landon; great-grandchild, Dayton; and her brother, Mike, and his family. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; infant daughter, Paula; mother, Bea; and father, Howard. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
