Charles "C.P." Damon
July 10, 1938 – April 23, 2021 (age 82)
C.P. Damon of Lakewood, Colorado died peacefully in his home on April 23rd.  Mary, his wife of 26 years, was by his side.  He was being treated for Lewy Body Dementia at the time of his passing.

A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, April 29th, from 10:00am to 8:00pm, and the Funeral Service will be Friday, April 30th at 11:00am, both located at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227.  A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service. C.P. was a civil engineer who graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.  His lifelong career with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, spanned a 33-year period.  He was a respected subject matter expert who significantly contributed to National Highway Safety Standards and Practices that are in effect today.  C.P. retired from the FHWA-Region 8 Office, Lakewood, in 1995.

Coaching youth baseball in both Texas and Colorado was his passion.  For no less than 30 years, C.P. coached for the Balcones Little League in Austin and later for the Jefferson County Junior Baseball Association in Lakewood.  He was a disciplined and avid golfer, skier, and motorcycle enthusiast.  He also enjoyed hunting elk and deer with his son, Mark.

C.P. was the oldest son of Roger and Mamie (Tribe) Damon of  Port Aransas, Texas.  He has two children, Mark (Bianca) Damon of College Station, TX and Cheryl (Bill) Glendening of Round Rock, Texas.  He was the grandfather of Bailey Damon and Chad Glendening.  C.P. was predeceased by his parents, Mamie and Roger Damon, and brother, Claude Damon.
