Craig Lee Ashbaugh

Craig Lee Ashbaugh was born May 13, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and died peacefully on April 1, 2012, at his home in Westminster, Colorado. A poet, scientist, outdoorsman, and avid art collector, Craig's many contributions include his poetry, published in several collections including his own ""Seeking Sanctuary""; his teaching at Colgate University; and his work in quality assurance at Covidien in Boulder. He had an enduring and contagious passion for art and nature. He is survived by his beloved partner, Melody Hildebrand; his children Kael Ashbaugh of New York City, and Kyra Todd of Arlington, Virginia, and their mother, Anne Ashbaugh; his grandchildren Eli Todd and Leila Todd, his son-in-law Jim Todd; his mother, Virginia Ashbaugh of Fairfax, Virginia; and his sisters Karen Farley and Kyle Kern and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, George Ashbaugh. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on April 10th at the Outdoor Chapel of Rocky Mountain Memorial Park, Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora. Memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Nature Association (rmna.org), P.O. Box 3100, Estes Park, CO 80517, directed to the Ashbaugh Memorial.
