Craig Martin Bowman was born in 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away on October 21, 2020, at Aurora Hospital due to a stroke.
He was born to Maxine Bowman, but was raised in an orphanage until he was adopted as a teenager by Blaine and Elizabeth Turner. With this adoption came five brothers: Wayne, Mike, Rick, Paul, and Blaine. He attended Mullen High School, then received his bachelor's degree from Metro, and finally his Master of Arts from University of Denver. He worked as a middle school teacher in Jefferson and Douglas counties, as well as Smokey Hill High School in Arapahoe County, and was a respected leader and guide for troubled youth in a detention center.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served on the board at Mullen High School.
He was a proud Army veteran who also loved music, and could play the organ and piano.
He was a devoted member of Risen Christ Catholic Parish, and one of Mullen High School's most distinguished alumni.
Craig's Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, November 4th, at 10am at Risen Christ Catholic Parish. Due to current restrictions, we are encouraging people to watch via Risen Christ's website: www.risenchristchurch.org .
His graveside service will be on Thursday, November 5th, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. He will be honored there by the Knights of Columbus, the Honor Bell, the All Veterans' Honor Guard, and the Army Honor Guard. He will also receive his Catholic committal rites by a representative of Risen Christ.
