Craig Waddle

October 3, 1926 — January 18, 2017

Craig Waddle was born in Kearney Nebraska on October 3, 1926 and passed away January 18, 2017. His mother, Marion A. Waddle was a math teacher and his father, Cecil R. Waddle worked as an industrial arts teacher and later as an inventor and manufacturer. The family moved to Lincoln Nebraska in 1934. When Craig was a senior in high school he enlisted in the Navy V-5 pilot training program. On July 1, 1944 he was called into active duty where he served two years before being discharged. Upon his return, he attended the University of Nebraska and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In June of 1948 he married Willa Rae Bardshar and had two sons, Ted and John. In May of 1971 Craig and Willa divorced. In August of 2002 Craig married Xingfang Tu who had grown up in Shanghai and later resided in Sidney Australia for 10 years. Most of his working years were spent in the design and construction of processing plants, in particular cement, uranium and oil shale. Also during these years he was awarded two patents and two copyrights. In his free time Craig enjoyed hunting and fishing. A Memorial Service honor Craig's life will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. Craig is survived by his wife, Dina Xingfang Waddle; sons, Ted Waddle and John Waddle; granddaughters, Caitlin Waddle, Sarah Waddle, Eleanor Waddle, Satori Marchitti; great grandchildren, Carmella Marchitti and Michael Marchitti; and brothers, Boyd (Kathy) Waddle and Bruce (Beverly) Waddle.
