Curtis Woodruff

January 12, 1982 — December 28, 2022

Brighton, Colorado

Curtis Tyrell Woodruff, at the age of 40, unexpectedly passed away while he was sleeping at home on December 28, 2022. He graduated from Lakewood High School, and attended the University of Northern Colorado. Curt was born and raised in Colorado, where he met in 2005 and married in 2008 the love of his life, Nichole Ann Delverde.

Curt's love for football especially the Denver Broncos was evident; from the Broncos memorabilia in his home down to his favorite Denver Broncos T-Shirt and hat he always wore.  One of his favorite things to do was get together with his dad Kenneth, his brothers Clint and Scott and his nephew Tyler on football Sundays.  His wife Nichole was no match for football Sundays, which was ok with her because his happiness is what brought her the most joy.  Curt's bond with his mom Shirley was beautiful to watch, the unconditional love was evident.  He loved going to the movies with her and sitting around the house watching their favorite shows.

In 2019, Curt and Nichole welcomed their beautiful daughter, Lyric into their lives.  She quickly became the light of his life and the love for his daughter was Curt's greatest gift.   He danced at least 20 times to Beauty and the Beast's "Tale as Old As Time" after he surprised her with Belle's dress up set.  He surprised her with a tree decal on one of her bedroom walls, with all her favorite trolls from the movie, he taught her the art of wrestling and how to gracefully land on any soft surface he would toss her on.  They would enjoy reading stories before bed and snuggling all day watching TV.  Lyric taught daddy all about her favorite princesses, and he taught her all about his favorite football players.  Some may say Nichole was Curt's greatest love story, until you saw him with Lyric, there was no comparison.

It's impossible to capture the true essence of a person in a few paragraphs and these are only a couple of moments in a life that was so beautiful.  Curt, there will never be anyone who could fill your shoes, not only because they were huge, but because you were an amazing daddy, husband, son, brother, and friend.  My hope is, while you are watching over us, you see how many lives you touched and how loved you are. We love you with everything we are, until we meet again, always and forever.  N & L

Curt is survived by his loving wife, Nichole Woodruff; his beautiful daughter, Lyric Woodruff; parents, Kenneth and Shirley Woodruff; Nichole's parents, Alan and Noreen Delverde; his brothers, Clint Woodruff and Clayton Woodruff; his nephews, Tyler and Zachary Woodruff, Erik Gray and Kaleb Shaffer; his nieces Katelynn Mills, Haylie Shaffer, Madison Brake-Stamm and Sophia Quintana; his sisters-in-law, Laura Woodruff, Erika Woodruff, Danielle Shaffer, Samantha Delverde and Jennifer Delverde; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Ethel Woodruff; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Galloway; his Uncle Joseph Galloway; his Aunt Penny Cederberg, and Aunt Cynthia Woodruff; and his cousins, Chelsea and Aaron Garza.
