CW4 Ray J. Geron

June 17, 1928 — May 18, 2019

Ray J. Geron, 90, of Westminster passed away on May 18, 2019 at Greenridge Place. Born on June 17, 1928 in Colorado he was the son of the late Louis and Clementine (Ferrar) Geron. Ray married Florence Maria Addis on 20 January 1951 and together they shared 68 years of marriage.

Ray attended Montrose High School and Pikes Peak Community College.

Ray served 41 years of military service in the Active Army, Army Reserve and Colorado National Guard.

He was an original member of Company H 19th Special Forces Group (later redesignated 5th Battalion 19th Special Forces Group.

He enjoyed drag racing at Bandimere Speedway with his son. He was the crew chief for Guard Racing for 16 years. He also enjoyed showing his restored John Deere tractors.

In addition to his wife, Flo, he is survived by his children, Ed Geron and his wife, Donna, Fay Yakish and Laura Geron, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter Kay Biltoft, granddaughters Rachel Yakish and Erika Geron.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 6pm with a Rosary Service at 7pm at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave. Arvada, CO 80003. Funeral Mass on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11am at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church 7400 W. 80th Ave. Arvada, CO 80003. Burial with full Military Honors will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in Ray's name may be made to Suncrest Hospice 5700 S Quebec St Ste. #310, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 and/or the Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
