Cynthia Gay Bacquet

Cynthia (Cindi) Bacquet passed away on April 5, 2013 in Morrison, Colorado. Cynthia Gay Warren was born on September 21, 1930 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was born to Kathryn Jane Johnson and Wallace Joseph (Joe) Warren. In her early childhood, she lived with her dad and stepmother, Helen, in Benton Harbor. Her favorite subjects in school were singing and drama. In high school, her friends would come to her house, roll up the carpet and dance to the radio. She was a Candy Striper at the local hospital in Benton Harbor. After high school graduation, Cynthia, known by her middle name, Gay, in her earlier years was a telephone operator. After marriage and children she was employed mostly as a nurse's aid in nursing homes and hospitals. Through the years Gay also worked in a bakery and she was a book keeper, a cashier and she worked in a childcare center. She also worked at thrift stores. After that she was a seamstress and made most of her clothes for many years and sewed most of her home decorating items. Singing and music remained her passions. She sang in church choirs and as a senior-citizen, she was in a choral group who sang for City of Phoenix Officials. She volunteered for the Arizona Diamondbacks and sang a duet with their first baseman Travis Lee at a Christmas Party in their inaugural season. Over the years, after leaving the Benton Harbor area, she lived in Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, moved back to Phoenix and spent her last years in the Littleton, Colorado area. Later in life, everyone knew her as Cindi. Cindi is survived by her five children, Joanne (Ziemke) Gregorio of Littleton, CO, Chuck Ziemke of Phoenix, AZ, Joe Ziemke of Plattsmouth, NE, Cyndi (Durfee) Lewis of Paducah, KY and Ron Durfee of Phoenx, AZ; grandchildren, Tony Gregorio of CO, Tim Gregorio of MI, Misty (Ziemke) Talbott of AZ, Casey Ziemke of AZ, Troy DeLong, Amanda Ziemke of IA, Anna Ziemke of NE, Jessica Lewis of LA, Ronald Durfee, II of FL and Krista Durfee of FL; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Jamie, Lauren, Alexis, Eric, Elijah, Jesse, Dillion and one on the way; sister Judith (Warren) Tahaney and brother Robert Warren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Wallace Warren. There will be a Committal of Cremated Remains on Friday, April 12th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Littleton Cemetery.
