Cynthia Ann Richardson

d. February 19, 2019

Cynthia ""Cinders"" Ann Richardson passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 19, 2019, at home in Westminster, Colorado.

Cynthia (aka Cindy aka Cinders) was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on August 4, 1966. She spent most of her growing up years on Prince Edward Island where she achieved her undergraduate degree in music, majoring in voice. Life experiences took her from there to St. Catharines, Ontario, where she met and married her heart's other half, Jason in 1996.

Cindy was the loving partner to her husband Jason, devoted little sister to Stuart (Paula) Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Douglas (Ines) Cambridge-Narrows, New Brunswick, Canada and Denise (Barry) Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her nephews Daniel, Toronto, Ontario, Can., and Tuukka, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, along with nieces Kaisla, London England, Kellianne, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, Chelsea and Sophia, Longmont, Colorado, US, will remember her as bright, fun loving, exuberant and caring.

Upon moving to Colorado from Canada in 1999, Cinders began a journey pursuing her artistic passion through ceramics, jewelry making, drawing, cooking and throwing awesome halloween parties. Waves of color and texture were a consistent theme in her artwork not unlike her life. She enjoyed Dragon Boat racing for many years. Her competitive juices flowed when she was in the boat in stark contrast to her typically quiet and calm demeanor. Keeping her heart close to water helped her feel a little of home.

Volunteering for the Westminster Fire Department was another love of hers. She would be first in line to help the firefighters with water rescue training. At one point putting on a mustang suit and being dropped in the middle of a lake in February to help them simulate a water rescue. She was such a good actor when simulating hypothermia they had to ask her if she was ok. She was always playful and amused by these events.

There will be a memorial reception Friday March 1, 2019, 3:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 9998 Grant St, Thornton, CO, 80229. This well be a chance for friends and loved ones to share stories and memories. We are hoping to share as much joy as sorrow, as many laughs as tears.
