Cynthia "Cindy" Chapman

November 1, 1969 — November 2, 2022

Cynthia “Cindy” Chapman, beloved wife and mother, passed away in Highlands Ranch, Colorado on November 2nd at age 53. Cindy was born in Endicott, New York, but grew up in Lyons, Colorado.  She attended Lyons High School, and then graduated from Colorado State University.  She was a track, volleyball, and basketball star in high school, and carried the love of competition and fitness with her throughout her life.  She ran over 15 marathons, including the Boston Marathon 5 times.  She loved the Colorado mountains and the beaches of Hawaii, and spent as much time as she could hiking, biking, skiing, jogging and swimming near them. She loved to travel and was always up for an adventure.

Cindy is survived by Jim Chapman, her husband of 27 years, her children Tyler Chapman & Kiana Chapman, her mother Carole Namesnik, her brother Jeff Namesnik (Joni Namesnik), her sister Kim Gordon (Bob Gordon), and her brother Dave Namesnik (Michelle Trumble). She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law Robert and Barbara Chapman, and sister-in-law Amy Chapman. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Namesnik.  Cindy loved her nieces and nephews dearly; Amanda Gordon, Jessica Namesnik, Luke Namesnik, and Frankie Namesnik.

Cindy loved helping other people; her part time work for the City of Denver and her many charity activities were a testament to her huge heart and caring nature.  Her biggest joys in life were raising her kids, along with offering constant encouragement and support to her friends and family, all whose lives she touched deeply.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life for Cindy on Wednesday, November 30th at 1:00 pm at the Dixon Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3908 Grace Blvd., in Highlands Ranch.  Cindy specifically mentioned that she doesn’t want anyone to wear black, as she loved bright colors, so please honor her by wearing a colorful tie, dress or colorful shirt.  Come as you are, less formal was always preferred by her.
