Dale R. Harris, age 84, of Denver, Colorado passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Rose Hospital in Denver.
Mr. Harris was born in Crab Orchard, Illinois on May 11, 1937, the son of Ray B. and Aurelia (Davis) Harris. He graduated from Marion High School in 1955 and from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1959. Following his graduation from Harvard Law School in 1962, he returned to Denver to begin his law career with the prestigious law firm Davis Graham & Stubbs. Mr. Harris served as partner, and for several years as managing partner, in the firm until his retirement in 2007 and held terms as president of both the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations. He was an outstanding lawyer with a national reputation in antitrust and trial practice. Following retirement, he served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, His colleagues fondly remember his work ethic and leadership, as well as his continued dedication to passing his wealth of knowledge of the law and professionalism onto the next generation. People naturally looked to him as a role model and leader both because of his remarkable abilities and his readily apparent compassion, kindness and decency.
Mr. Harris was an active member of his community. Notable among his many roles in the community were his involvement with the Mile High United Way, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and the QuaLife Wellness Community, serving as chairman of the boards of directors at the esteemed organizations.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 61 years, Toni Harris and their loving family. He was devoted to his family and they hold him in their hearts as beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His kindness and strength of character touched all who knew him,
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the Mile High United Way and the Anschutz Cancer Center General Research Fund.
