Daniel Victor Boyd

Daniel Victor Boyd, 75, passed away September 23, 2008, in Denver, Colorado. He was born March 23, 1933, in Denver, Colorado, a son of Leo William and Amelia Pearlina Peterson Boyd. Daniel met and married his sweetheart, Donna Allene Harrison and they recently celebrated 53 years together. Daniel was very creative and an amazing artist, creating art work by etching, sketching and carving. He served in the US Navy for 10 years and then worked in sales, eventually starting his own ceramic tile business called Dan and Clan. This was a family business where Daniel and his three sons worked together for eight years. After additional education and training, Daniel worked as an engineer at Fitzimmons for many years. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and in 1990, served as Cheifton of the Colorado Springs Scottish Society. Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Boyd, of Denver; children: Robert L. Boyd, of Thornton; Russell L. (Cora) Boyd, of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren: Robin, Trevor and Ryan Boyd, Sharelle Kile, Griffith Boyd, Timothy and Stephanie Kile; great-grandson, Braiden Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jolene D. Kile; and a son, Michael W. Boyd. A Memorial service for Daniel will be held on Monday, October 6th, 12:30 pm, at the Westminster Church of the Nazarene, 3501 W. 104th Ave, in Westminster. Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 So. Sheridan Blvd, at 2:30 p.m., staging area ""B"" Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association of Colorado, 1280 So.
