Daniel ""Dan"" Glenn Branine

Daniel ""Dan"" Glenn Branine, age 73, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away January 2, 2017. Daniel Glenn Branine was the second son of Ivan and Etta Branine , Cheney, Kansas. He was born May 24, 1943. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas and a Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Dallas. In later years he acquired certification in Educational Administration from Colorado State University. He began his professional teaching career as an elementary teacher in Kansas and later moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to teach art in an elementary school where he met his wife Barbara, a Special Education teacher. His long tenure of 28 years as an Educational Administrator began in 1975. He served schools in Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona then retired in 2003 after his Parkinson's diagnosis. He had avid interests in art, Western Cowboy History, sports and poker. Music tastes included Country Western and Gospel. He always loved a good story and is well remembered for his infectious laugh. But his greatest passion was spending time with his family. He leaves behind a son Erik (Shelley) and a daughter Tiffany (William), 6 grandchildren ages 15 to 6 months and his wife of 44 years, Barbara. All live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. One older brother, Larry and his wife Dianne live in Eureka, Kansas. Father, Ivan and mother, Etta proceeded him in death. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend who encouraged all to follow their of dreams and talents. He touched many lives through his kindness, fairness, and perseverance. His long struggle with Parkinson's Disease was handled with dignity which inspired all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at South Suburban Christian Church 7275 South Broadway, Littleton, Colorado 80122. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (michaeljfox.org), or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation (pdf.org), or the National Parkinson Foundation (parkinson.org).
