Daniel Lester Chun, 55, of Boulder, passed away on October 5, 2020 in Denver, CO. Born on April 24, 1965 to Eason L. and Edith L. (Crame) Chun of Ann Arbor, MI., Daniel attended Michigan State University and was a lifelong Spartan - "go green, go white!” He received his Masters in Economics and completed all coursework for a PhD in Economics (specializing in Statistics and Finance) from The University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL.
Dan joined Jarden Consumer Solutions in 2003 (Newell Brands). Among his positions with the company he most recently served as VP, Ecommerce Analytics. He was extremely committed to his team and the company, as is evidenced by his 17-year tenure.
Dan was a devoted father to his daughter, Anjelica, 20, and he appreciated that 2020 gave him the opportunity to spend more time with her. In his final days, Dan was surrounded by family and friends. He will always be remembered for his positive caring demeanor, pushing himself and others to achieve their personal best. He loved a good challenge and completed the World Marathon Majors, running marathons in Tokyo, Berlin, London, Boston, Chicago and New York. He swam around Key West, competed in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, Ironman Florida and loved running with his team in the Hood to Coast relay. He participated in too many races and challenges to list. Outside of competitive challenges, he enjoyed skiing, biking, and running in the Colorado mountains.
He is survived by his daughter, Anjelica; his sister, Rebecca and her husband, Stefan; his niece, Jessica; nephew, Eric; his aunt, Millie; his uncle, Paul; his dog, Pepper; cousins and numerous friends.
A video tribute in Dan’s memory will be forthcoming.
