Daniel Dominic Figliola, 81, formerly of Akron, Ohio, passed away October 8, 2018 in Colorado surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 4, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to Leonard and Vincenza (Santa Croce) Figliola.
Daniel graduated from St. Vincent St. Mary's high school and attended Kent State University. He worked for 30 years at H. Muehlstein & Co. as a rubber and plastic salesman, until the company was purchased by Mobil Oil Co. in 1996. He then opened his own company, Daniel D. Figliola & Company, Inc. until he retired in 2016. He also served on the Summa Health Board of Directors for over 20 years.
He was an avid golfer and a member of Silver Lake Country Club for multiple decades. Daniel was a proud member of the Italian American club of Akron and Cleveland, Ohio.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jane A. Figliola; his daughter, Debra (Figliola) Minich and her husband Dan Minich; his son Daniel R. Figliola and his wife Amy; his grandchildren Ashley (Minich) Fuentes and her husband Adriel Fuentes, Danielle (Figliola) Johns and her husband Mitchel, Alyssa (Minich) Hauser and her husband Stanley; two great-grandsons Austin Daniel Fuentes and Duke Antonio Johns; and his three sisters, Grace and Carmel Figliola and Jeanette Stone, as well as his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-law parents Robert and Margaret Charlton, his two brother-in-laws Robert Stone, Bob Charlton and his nephew Daniel Stone.
A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Saint Simeon Cemetery, 22001 E. Highway 30, Aurora, CO 80018. The family will host a celebration of life in Akron, Ohio at a date still to be determined.
Memorial donations in Daniel's name can be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
