Daniel Emmett Griffith, Jr., age 84, died at Collier Hospice in Arvada, Colorado on March 3, 2024. He graduated from Bakersfield High School in California and entered the U. S. Navy Reserve. He went into active duty in the Navy, served on a ship off the coast of Viet Nam, and was honorably discharged in 1962.
Mr. Griffith proposed marriage on August 13, 1975, to Susan Kay Howard, and they were married ten days later. He was a railroad land surveyor for many years. He and Susan moved to Arvada in 1983 were they lived ever since.
Mr. Griffith was actively involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, in which he served as a Commander of the Tenth District. He enjoyed skeet shooting, as well as hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed caring for his wife and, more r3ecently caring for their white Siberian Husky named Anastasia (“Annie”).
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Susan Griffith. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Wes Howard, his sisters-in-law Patti Howard and Mary Ann Ehlers, and by many friends.
