Daniel Patrick Hallinan, age 88, of Denver, CO passed away on Friday, February 19th, 2021 following injuries sustained in a car accident.
Dan was born on July 22, 1932 in Denver, CO. He was the last survivor of ten children born to Dennis and Agnes (Finnie) Hallinan. He attended Holy Family High School and graduated in 1951. Following graduation, Dan enlisted in the Navy. During his service, he was stationed on Guam and also served as a naval photographer. After completing his time in the military, Dan worked as a United States Postal Service letter carrier. He also had a career as a salesman working for the Colorado Beverage Company and the Brown and Bigelow Company
An avid photographer, Dan chronicled many family events and was rarely seen without camera in hand. He also took great care of the family home following the death of his brother, Joseph. He tended the roses planted by his mother and added new rose bushes for each deceased sibling. Dan was a devout parishioner of Holy Family Church, and a member of the American Legion Post 161 in Arvada. He loved collie dogs and trips to Central City casinos where he often came away a winner
Daniel is survived by four daughters, a son, and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren
A committal service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A", on Friday, April 30th, 2021 at 9am. A memorial service will follow at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11am.
