Daniel Yukio Iritani, 90, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2016. Dan was born on August 26, 1925 to Frank Saichi and Chitose Shimizu Iritani. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene. He is survived by his sons Bob and Mark and his three grandchildren Matthew, Megan and Amanda. One of five siblings, Dan is survived by his brother Willie and preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Roy and sister Francis. Dan graduated Englewood High School, joined the United States Air Force, and earned a degree in agronomy from Colorado State University. His love of the outdoors went beyond his job with the US Forest Service, growing vegetables in the backyard and never passing up the opportunity to teach his family about nature. An avid skier, biker, golfer and fisherman, Dan loved recreating and passed all his hobbies onto his family. He was a beloved member of Simpson United Methodist Church, longtime supporter of the Japanese American Citizens League, a past president of the El Jabel Shriners, an active participant of the SkiMeisters, and a loyal friend to all. Dan will forever be remembered for his humble demeanor, his relentless work ethic and most importantly his commitment to family. A military memorial service will be held Friday June 10th at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area A at 9:00 am. (4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO 80236). A church service will be held Friday June 10th at Simpson United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow (6001 Wolff St, Arvada, CO 80003).
