Daniel McGhghy

Daniel Ray McGhghy passed peacefully from this earth December 28th, 2024, at age 75. Born August 6th, 1949, Daniel would remain a life-long Colorado resident, growing up in the Barnum neighborhood of southwest Denver. Daniel graduated from West High School, and would marry his sweetheart Ellen Anthony. Daniel and Ellen would eventually add a daughter, Katherine, to the family. Daniel enjoyed a 30 year career with the State of Colorado, as a Purchasing Agent. Though circumstances would eventually lead to divorce, Daniel remained devoted to his family and worked hard to provide for them.

Daniel was an animal lover, caring over the years for his 'guard pack', including two precious cats named Princess Pudge and Queen Sue. He was a history and military aficionado, building incredible miniatures and dioramas. He loved to watch movies and read science fiction books, especially those by his favorite author, Andre Norton. Daniel is survived by his sister June, nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leroy, Frank and Tom, and sister Virginia.

Per Daniel's wishes, his remains shall be cremated and his ashes shall be returned to the earth for eternity at family property in the Colorado mountains. The family will hold a private 'Celebration of Life' for Daniel as spring returns in 2025. In lieu of cards and flowers Daniel would have asked those wishing to honor his life, to donate to their favorite charity in his name.
