Daniel Paul Moore was born on November 1, 1956, to Nathan and Reba (Miracle) Moore.

He grew up in the mountains of Upstate New York in North Creek and Bakers Mills. At 17 years old, he enlisted in the United States Army. His career began in the TV and radio repair field. His duty stations included Ft. Greely, Alaska, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C. He entered the bio-medical area leading to his assignment at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, where he would meet his wife Sandy in 1978 through mutual friends.

In 1979 Dan received orders to relocate to Tobyhanna Army Depot in Pennsylvania. Here he and Sandy would marry among friends and family. In 1980, he completed an advanced course in Bio-Medical Maintenance. His academic achievements led him to attend classes in X-ray equipment. He would also earn an associate degree in this field.

With the continuity of his military career and numerous training AMMED (Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course basic and advanced course, EMT certifications, and training, etc.) His assignments included; the 67th Evac U. S. Army Hospital, Wurzburg Germany, 705th Main Support Battalion, 5th ID Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and the 45th Field Hospital, Vicenza Italy, where he supported Medical Logistics in conjunction with his duties in Bio-Medical Maintenance. Part of his time in Italy was during Desert Storm.

While stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana, Dan received the Army Achievement Medal in 1986 for his actions in a horrific accident that claimed the lives of civilians. For the next eight years, Dan received numerous assignments and continued to advance his career. He also received various medals and awards. He was known as a soldiers' soldier, putting others first. In 1994, Dan retired from the United States Army after returning to Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado as an instructor with the Bio-Medical Maintenance School.

After he retired from the United States Army, he worked in several areas. He eventually became the Operations Project Manager with Economy Paving. This career path would lead to the creation of his own trucking company, Moore and Son Services LLC 2013.

Family was the core of who Dan was. He will be forever be known to his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as a grounding force that helped keep his family together.

In 2018, Dan would be diagnosed with stage two pancreatic cancer. For the love of family, he fought with bravery and courage.

He was a man who loved God, his country, and his family with un-ending loyalty. He was a man of character, morals, and principle who spent his life helping others and working hard. He enjoyed earthly pleasures and was known for his infectious laugh, sense of humor, and the mischievous sparkle in his eyes.

Daniel was called home to the Lord on October 31, 2020, having attained the age of 63 years, 11 months, and 30 days. His survivors include his wife Sandy Moore, his children Nathan Jesse (Nate) Moore and partner Virginia Packer, Rebecca Ann Moore and fiancé Roy Hinson, Alaina Caley (Moore) Cowart, and her husband Logan, and Sherry Christine Moore. His surviving siblings include; Nathan J. Moore and his wife Judy, Donald J. Moore and his wife Karen, and Lillian A. Moore. His grandchildren Austin Baca, Evalynn, and Caroline Cowart, and a little girl expected in April of 2021. Survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, family, and friends he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Nathan (Mickey) and Reba (Miracle) Moore, his brother Wendell Lee (Pete) Moody, and younger brother John E. Moore.

Due to COVID -19, the date of his memorial service is indeterminate. His interment is to be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in the summer of 2021, where he will receive military honors. Dan's final wishes were that in lieu of flowers, to donate to the American Cancer Society.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
