DANTE LITTLEHORSE JAMES

June 9, 1994 – June 30, 2021

Dante was born to Dante J. James and Michael S. Gallegos on June 9, 1994, in Aurora, Colorado.  He was loved by everyone from the very beginning.  Called DJ by all, he ran cross-country in middle school, and track in high school.  He graduated from Denver’s East High School.  He began training in martial arts from the time he was four, first with his father, then earning his Black Belt in Hapkido at age 16.  He then went on to achieve his 2nd Degree.  He continued his martial arts journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with prominent masters in Colorado, Portland, OR, and Las Vegas, NV.

He was an amazing sales person, moving though several companies with ever-increasing expertise and responsibility.  Most recently, he was the Director of Sales for an international aerospace software engineering company, where he got the job knowing next to nothing about the industry but teaching himself.  Even without a PhD in Engineering as most in the company had, he was still selected to be the first person dedicated to selling their product.

DJ/Dante was one of the helpers, always ready and willing to assist anyone with anything. He was also up for nearly any physical challenge, being able to climb anything, win a foot race or try a dance move. He easily made friends everywhere and created amazing memories with hundreds of people in his short time. He was able to learn a lot quickly, and excelled at brain exercises from trivia to understanding coding and highly technical items.

Family and friends were always important to DJ/Dante.  Whether it was just hanging out, playing golf, enjoying his cars, playing video games, or just chillin’, he always brought a bright light to whomever he was with.   His warm smile and open heart were just some of the reasons he made friends wherever he went. No one was ever a stranger to DJ.

He is survived by his father, Dante J. James, step-mother Christina James, brother Richard Ramirez, sisters Rebeca Ramirez and Faberge Jones-Beane, step sisters Morgan Warner and Carmen Johnson, cousin/little brother Tyler Washam, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family.

Wherever I go, everyone is a little safer because I am there.

Where I am, anyone in need has a friend.

Whenever I return home, everyone is happy I am there.
