Darrold Lynn Hudley was born to Vern and Celeste (Franklin) Hudley on May 8, 1940 in Denver, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, La Verna Jean.
Darrold grew up in Denver and lived his life here. He attended school in Denver and graduated from Manual High School in 1959. He worked for Martin Marietta after graduation until he was drafted into the US Army in 1963. He was honorably discharged in 1965.
He married his soulmate, Majorie Pichon, in 1963 and their love story grew and continued for 58 years, until his death. They are parents to three beautiful children: a son and two daughters.
Following in his father's footsteps, he joined the Denver Police Department in 1970. He loved his job and received numerous awards and commendations during his 31 years of service. He retired from the department as a detective in 2001. Darrold was also a familiar face at the Denver Nuggets games, where he worked as a security guard for 28 years.
After retirement, Darrold spent countless , enjoyable hours with his grandchildren. He was an avid huntsman and fisherman and he loved sharing his expertise with the children. Darrold had a jovial nature and was outgoing and friendly. He loved music, dancing and playing cards. To those who knew him well, he was a patient, kind, tolerant, caring and generous man. His love for his family was evident and obvious in everything he did. They were always first and foremost in his life. Not only was he a big man in stature, but a big man in life as well.
Darrold entered into eternal and well-deserved rest on March 13, 2021. To continue his circle of life and honor his memory, he leaves his cherished wife, Majorie; beloved children, Trent, Danielle and Monique; grandchildren, Drew (Samantha), Cameron, Reagan and Kaidyn; great-grandchildren, Lola, Laila and Makai; brother, Gregory (Kathy); sister, Natalie; sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.
