David James Baloun

After courageously fighting cancer for five months, Dave passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side. He is survived by Barbara, son Dave, son Doug (Traci), Nick (Jocelyn), grandchildren Grace, Lindsay, Ian, Grayson and Caroline. Dave was preceded in death by his brothers John and Jim. Dave was born and raised in Chicago, graduated with a BA from DePaul University, served in the US Army and was granted an MBA from the University of Illinois. He had an extensive marketing and sales career with Pillsbury, Morton Salt, Great Western Sugar, Coors and food broker companies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 3629 W. 29th Avenue, Denver, CO 80211 (or www.littlesistersofthepoor.org/donate) and American Legion (www.legion.org/donate). Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday, June 20 and a Memorial Mass at 10 am Tuesday, June 21 both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver. A Reception will follow the Memorial Mass beginning at 11 am in the Horan & McConaty Reception Center which is adjacent to the Chapel. Committal of Cremated Remains will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, June 21.
