David Allen Borger was born on May 13, 1936, son of Elmer and Julia Borger, the oldest of two brothers in Denver, Colorado, where he lived all his life. He attended Denver Christian Schools kindergarten through high school, where he graduated in 1954. He then worked for a few years learning the carpentry trade; after that he spent 40 years working at Caterpillar Tractor, retiring in 1997. It was in 1955 that he married his high school sweetheart; they were to celebrate their 58th anniversary this summer. Together they have 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He equally loved his children's and grandchildren's spouses and 2 step great grandchildren. His family was his greatest blessing. For enjoyment, Dave loved golf, camping, and helping others. He served his Lord in many ways over the years, as elder and deacon in his church and also made an impact on many lives while leading high school youth groups and cadets. He was a faithful servant, a great blessing to those around him, and an example for his family. He will live in our hearts forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:30am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (One block west of Holly Street) in Centennial. Please share your memories of David and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook.
