Dave was born in New York, New York to Molly and Maurice (Pete) Caster on March 20, 1933. He made his peaceful passing while listening to his favorite Sinatra songs and being surrounded by his family in Aurora, Colorado on April 9, 2019 at the age of 86. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Karen, of 56 years along with their three children Susan (Andrew) Varra, Jim (Krista) and Michael, as well as his three beloved grandchildren, Meagan, Jake and Kalia.
He graduated from the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics in NY and was later drafted into the US Army to serve during the Korean Conflict. After earning a BS degree in Business Administration from Long Island University, he began his career with the Central Intelligence Agency (The Agency). He then went on to complete two master's degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration from University of Oklahoma and Central Michigan University. In his time with The Agency, Dave and his family served in various European and U.S. locations while he rose to a senior position receiving a ""Commendation for Heroic Performance"". Following his time with The Agency, Dave furthered his career in the Defense Industry as a Business Development Planner with Lockheed-Martin under President Reagan's ""Star Wars"" program and later with Eaton Corporation.
In the early 90's, he became an Adjunct Professor and Career Outplacement Counselor and began Freelance Writing where he was published in the Rocky Mountain News, The Wall Street Journal and many other publications.
He loved spending time with his adoring family enjoying a cocktail (or two) promptly at 5:00pm, followed by a delicious meal and an evening of dancing and singing. Dave never missed an opportunity to promptly provide a ""5-Star"" review of the meal - The Highest of Quality and Taste!!
Besides enjoying time with family, Dave enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, reading, writing and his M&Ms. He was very grateful and frequently expressed his strong appreciation for a wonderful life and most importantly, a wonderful marriage he shared with Karen.
Dave touched many lives and believed everyone should leave the world in a better place and he certainly did just that!!!
