David Walker Gordon

David Walker Gordon, 84, of Arvada, CO, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016. He was surrounded by family. David is survived by his wife Janet Geary of 56 years, sister Jane (Frank) Graper, son Gregory (Deborah) Gordon, daughter Karen (Doug) Ullman, grandchildren Casey, Meghan, Daniel, Steven and Andrew, great-granddaughter Codi, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. David was raised in Columbus, OH and graduated from The Ohio State University. He joined the Army after college, and was stationed in Northern Africa. He married Janet after he returned and they soon moved to Washington, D.C. to start his career with the government. He worked as a Geophysicist for the United States Geological Survey for 34 years. He held a Ph.D. in geophysics, and specialized in the study of earthquakes. David enjoyed sports, mathematics and history, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada, serving as an usher for many years. It is a great comfort to family and friends to know that he is now in the arms of his Savior. A memorial service celebrating the life of David will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m.at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada.
