David A. Hanna

David A. (Dave) Hanna Passed away peacefully in his home on July 20, 2017. Dave was born April 4, 1933 to Dorothy Worthing Hanna and Richard Clements Hanna in Iron Mountain, MI. Kay Hanna Hendrickson, his older sister, preceded Dave in death. Dave spoke of fond memories of visiting his Granddad and Gommy Worthing’s cabin at Chief Lake in upper Michigan. Dave joined the US Air Force in 1952 serving 4 years. While he was stationed in Ellsworth, SD he met Ruby; they were married June 9, 1956 in Denver, CO. Dave and Ruby moved to Berkley, CA where Dave attended Armstrong College receiving a degree in Accounting to become a CPA. After college, Dave started working for the Federal government’s General Accounting Office (GAO). This career took Dave and Ruby to Chicago, IL, Denver, CO and Kansas City, KS. Dave was the Regional Manager for GAO and retired in 1993. Dave was recognized numerous times in his career for superior work. Retirement didn’t stop Dave from working, he donated his time to his church and AARP doing taxes for the elderly. Dave’s favorite activity was to play golf; he played many games in retirement. Dave and Ruby also liked to travel during their retirement, especially to visit different cities for the game of golf. Dave and Ruby were married for 61 blessed years. He was a wonderful family man and his family meant the world to him. Dave would light up anytime his children and grandchildren would visit. They have three children David K. Hanna, Stephen D Hanna (Teresa), and Jean Hanna Ward (Dan); and four grandchildren, Ethan (Kara) Ward, Jordan Ward, Jason Hanna and Mark Hanna. Dave was fond of all of his numerous nieces and nephews and enjoyed their company. He will be dearly missed and his memory will forever be in our hearts. Services will be held Thursday, July 27th at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church; 6673 W. Chatfield Ave.; Littleton, CO at 10:30AM. A short service will also be held at his final resting place, Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 2:15PM.
