David Kent Hansen

DAVID KENT HANSEN David "Kent" Hansen died Wednesday August 13, 2003 at his home in Littleton Colorado. He was 52. Kent was born in Richfield Utah, August 17, 1949 to David I and Carol Sampson Hansen. Kent moved with his parents to Ely, Nevada in 1950. He attended Ely Grade School and graduated from White Pine High School in 1967 Kent received a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Brigham Young University in 1975 and a Master Degree in Statistical Analysis from the University of Northern Colorado in 1995. While living in Ely, Kent worked at KELY Radio Station. Standard Market, Nevada National Bank, First National Bank, Nevada Bell and AT&T. His AT&T career took his family to Sacramento California and to Littleton Colorado in 1990. Kent retired from AT&T in 1999 and went to work for ICG Communications for a year. He started teaching Math at Arapahoe Community College and College on-line. Kent was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. He served a 2 year mission for the in the Philippines. He enjoyed serving in many capacities of the church. Primary teacher, Priesthood teacher Financial Clerk, Membership clerk, Ward clerk, Elders Quorum President, Counselor in the High Priest Group, Second Counselor in the Bishopric, a Stake Missionary, and a member of the High Counsel. Kent married Kathryn Ann Petersen August 16, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of 6 children. Amy Sloan of Lake Ozark, MO, Ann Jeanette of Littleton, Co., Karen Sue of Del Rio, TX. Eric Kent, Abraham Lenard and Kelsey Elizabeth all of Littleton, Co. Funeral services will be held Monday August 18, 2003. Time is 11:00 am and a visitation at 10:00-10:40 am. Location is the Little LDS Stake Center, 1939 East Easter Ave, Littleton CO. 80122. Internment will be at the Littleton Cemetery.
