David V. Holland

February 15, 1986 — June 21, 2009

David Holland was born in Englewood, Colorado on February 15th 1986, to Lawrence and Jeanie Holland. David was raised in the Bear Creek area with his two brothers Jacob and Samuel. He enjoyed little league baseball, swimming, bicycling, along with a variety of other activities such as Cub Scouts. He enjoyed the scouts and all other outdoor activities like the winter klondike camp out, pine wood derby, scout meetings and banquets. Growing up in Colorado he was exposed to a lot of outdoor sports like ice climbing with his Uncle, skiing and snow boarding with his friends and family, especially at Loveland Ski Area where he was a season pass holder, mountain climbing 14, 000' peaks, rock climbing in Morrison, mountain bike riding and especially golfing. On weekends you could find him skeet shooting and target practice. While growing up in Bear Creek he attended Westgate Elementary School, Bear Creek Junior High and Bear Creek Senior High. David graduated from Bear Creek in 2004. After graduation he attended Arapahoe Community College for 2 years, enjoying the new level of education and socializing with a variety of people. During High School and College he worked for his Uncle's construction company, CSW, learning a variety of skills. Later he became interested in building restoration and preservation, working for Premier Specialty Contractors with his father and brothers. While at Premier he successfully earned a certificate in Construction Management from CSU. His work ethic and knowledge of the industry helped him quickly get to the Foreman position where he showed strong leadership earning respect of crew members and management. David was committed to a high work ethic and standard. He enjoyed working out of town, seeing different states in his ventures. Along with his many activities, he enjoyed travel; visiting grandparents in England and California. Retreats to Croatia and Bosnia, Hawaii and many family excursions, site seeing across America in the family RV. Road trips were especially a favorite of David. David loved summer vacations to Laguna Beach where he enjoyed skimboarding, body surfing, boogie boarding and walking the beach taking in the beauty of the ocean. Skateboarding was one of his favorite pass times, showing incredible balance. He was a talented athlete. David was an extremely generous man, never forgetting a birthday or holiday. He was remarkable with children. Enjoying his nephew Ethan and niece Lilly, also his many friends' children, showering them all with love. He was the pied piper of children. He gave all the way to the end of his life, then took it one step further, donating his organs. His heart, liver, 1 kidney and pancreas were transplanted to local people in Colorado. His other kidney was transpanted in California. His taste for hot and spicey food usually consisted of 'Dynamite"" chile powder that he grinds himself. While relaxing at home or his grandmother's or his parent's, he could usually be found watching a movie or TV show and laughing uncontrollably with family or friends and poking fun at his sister-in-law, Heather. David's faith to our Lord was second to none. He was a Volunteer Usher at Notre Dame Catholic Parish for many years. Proud to serve our Lord. He also volunteered at Mother Cabrini Shrine. We will miss David and his love. David V. Holland, 23 of Lakewood. Son of Jeanie & Lawrence. Brother of Jacob & Samuel. Visitation Thursday, 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Rosary at 7:00pm.
